Festival Program

April 18, 19 & 25, 2026 · Théâtre VME, Montréal

Land Acknowledgment

We acknowledge that this performance takes place on the unceded Indigenous lands of the Kanien'kehá:ka Nation. Montreal, or Tiohtià:ke, has long served as a gathering place for many First Nations, including the Kanien'kehá:ka of the Haudenosaunee Confederacy.

We recognize and respect the enduring presence, resilience, and stewardship of Indigenous peoples on this land, and we are grateful for the opportunity to share stories here today.

Over three nights, nine original works take the stage — from writers, directors, and performers at every stage of their journey. The only criteria to be part of this festival was simple: come with an idea, be open to working on it, and commit to the process. No résumé required. No grant committee. Just people who had something to say and a community willing to help them say it.

That's what accessibility means to us. Not a checkbox, but a practice. Theatre that belongs to the people in the room — on both sides of the stage.

We're grateful to everyone who tended to this idea and helped it grow into what it is today. We hope you leave inspired. And we hope that somewhere in what you see tonight, you recognize yourself — and think: I could do that.

Sarah Ellis

Sarah Ellis (actor)

Sarah is an actor and improviser from Montreal with a background in media and communications. After completing a BFA in Film Production at Concordia University, she continued working behind the camera for several years in film and television as a camera assistant and operator before eventually transitioning into the spotlight via improv comedy. She is the former Education Director of Montreal Improv and can currently be found performing at various venues across town and pursuing acting on stage and on camera.

Catherine Fagan

Catherine Fagan (actor)

Catherine is a Montreal-based performer and writer with her roots starting in the 2016 Newfoundland comedy scene. Since moving to Montreal to focus on acting and improv, she has become a frequent face at Theatre VME and Montreal Improv. She has appeared in productions such as The Dollhouse Project (Danielle Davidson), the Montreal Fringe show Once Upon a Time (Priddy Playful Productions), and Night Slime (Theatre VME) among many others. We're Bringin' Cabbies Back!

In a future where every job has been replaced by AI, a reckless cab driver embarks on a crusade to reclaim a world where cities hummed with life, strangers connected with one another, and cabbies still rumbled down streets.

Przemek Piwek

Przemek Piwek (director, playwright)

Przemek is a Polish-Canadian filmmaker based in Montreal, Quebec. He graduated from Mel Hoppenheim School of Cinema in screenwriting and film production and is known for films such as Bomber Jacket, Olga's Mirage, and Bicycle. His work explores themes of connection and identity, often through comedic storytelling. When he's not writing, he's coding at work, hanging with his LCAZ besties, or rotting on instagram reels/reality tv/chess.

Jack Dundas

Jack Dundas (playwright, actor)

Jack is a Plateau-based performer who enjoys improvising, acting, writing, and striking up conversations with strangers. He has written and performed in Theatre VME's Night Slime, MTL Sketch Fest, and One Hit Wonders' Sloppy Sunday sketch shows. When he's not on stage, he's probably eating or sleeping. Moment Theatre Collective's "One Acts Now" is Jack's first time performing in theatre, and he thanks you for coming out to support the show.

Mike Yu

Mike Yu (actor)

Mike likes to deconstruct things and then put them back together. He thinks that p-values get a bad rap for what's the fault of alpha levels and the whole mythos surrounding NHST in general. He writes evasive bios, since he genuinely doesn't like to talk about himself — and also genuinely feels that a lot of the foundations of empirical research, while they served their purpose, need to be revisited. In addition to deconstructing the holdovers of our late 20th century scientific method, he also enjoys figuring out how things like movies and television shows, theater, music, and improv comedy work so that he can attempt to reconfigure them in fun new ways. His success rate is middling. He also deconstructs furniture. His success rate is low.

Olivia Peet (director, playwright, actor)

Olivia has never done this before. Well, she's written songs for nearly 20 years. She also writes copy every day in her role as a Creative Director in advertising. Olivia did go to theatre camp and had a brief stint as an acting major in college. And making people laugh has always been her primary passion in life, be it through improv or trying to make the dental office administrator like her. But FLOPS is the first time she's ever written, starred in, and directed a full-blown play, and she can't wait to share it with you. Olivia wants to thank Eliazer Kramer, who composed the score for FLOPS and is the only reason you're seeing it today. She also wants to thank her friends and family who have believed in her since day one, including Walid Alhindi who helped design the logo for FLOPS. And finally, her amazing husband Will, who has heard this show on a loop for months and hasn't complained once. She loves you very much.

Pamela Balint

Pamela Balint (actor)

Pamela has been performing fairytale plays in family living rooms since the 90's. As a child, she enjoyed making people laugh, and discovered the stage was the place she loved to be the most. She has studied and performed from coast to coast, making her festival debut as "The Toilet Girl"; winning Best Comedian at the NBTA drama festival. With a preference for playing outlandish characters, she performed as a tap-dancing Humpty Dumpty in her high school's rendition of Alice Through the Looking Glass. Since then, her passion for acting led her to pursue improv and sketch comedy at The Second City, The Improv Centre, Mile End Improv and Impro Montreal.

Max King

Max King (actor)

Max is an improviser, writer, and musician. From Edmonton, he has performed in Toronto, Montreal and even (once) in Los Angeles. Based in Montreal, he contributes to the comedy community through performance, producing, and coaching. As a prolific project starter (and seldom project finisher), he combines comedy, science fiction, and music in whatever way he can.

Chelsea Cuffy

Chelsea Cuffy (actor)

Chelsea Cuffy is a Montreal-based performer who has been performing improv and sketch comedy since 2023. With her awkward offstage demeanor, she is best recognized for confidently misusing words until eventually corrected. She currently performs with the troupes One Hit Wonders and Dial Up Internet at vicarious venues across the city.

Christian Henegan-Comeau

Christian Henegan-Comeau (actor)

Christian (no relation) is a Montreal based artist, producer, and performer who blends music, theatre, and improvisation into work that feels alive and unpredictable. A vocalist and multi instrumentalist, he has performed across Canada from cozy front porches to crowded Jazzfests, bringing big energy and sharp comedic timing to every stage. His style is fun, quirky, and rooted in slice of life comedy. He leans into awkward pauses and honest observations, treating performance as a shared experience. As a producer and director, he creates shows that blur the line between concert and comedy, weaving narrative driven sets with playful audience interaction that make people laugh, feel seen, and leave buzzing.

Kate Conti

Kate Conti (actor)

Kate Conti hails from the state of Florida, having earned Canadian permanent residency in July 2025 after many trials and tribulations, fueled by her love of the artistic community fostered in the wonderfully diverse city of Montréal. Kate's day job is as a construction lady boss maintaining and building semi-nude artistic photography studios (no, really, this is a real job) across North America while being headquartered in Montréal. Kate has been improvising since her elementary-age summer camp days, through college, and now as an almost-thirty-something, with stops along the way in opera chorus, musical theatre, and a whole lot of church singing.

Robin Glance (actor)

Robin Glance is thrilled to have found her way back to the world of drama, having, until recently, last performed in her high school days. Robin realized that after years of perfecting the art of over-acting at Halloween parties and posting ridiculous character videos on her professional social media accounts, that she was ready to seek out a real stage. It did not take much urging from her dear friend and director Heidi Hawkins for Robin to find herself in the 2025 Hudson Village Theatre production of "The Game's Afoot", playing Agatha Wheeler. The experience had her hooked! Robin could not be more thrilled to have the opportunity to participate in Moment MTL one act play festival alongside the incredibly talented Heidi Hawkins and Dan Jeannotte. Robin Ramasamy

Robin Ramasamy (festival stage manager)

Robin is a curious person who has been exploring theatre through small creative endeavors over the past couple of years. In 2024, he took improv classes and got to perform at Théâtre Sainte-Catherine's Sunday Night Improv show. He also volunteered for the Montreal Fringe Festival as a venue manager and was exposed to a wide variety of shows and performers. The creative energy and behind the scenes perspective helped him grasp the basics of a theatre festival, as well as expand his understanding of what theatre and performance could look like. In 2025, he took acting classes and was delighted when he performed scenes in front of his peers. While Robin does not have formal training in theatre, the informal experiences he cultivated have not only given him a wealth of information but also motivated him to keep exploring the world of theatre. That is why he is excited to support One Acts Now as a Festival Stage Manager. He also aspires to write his own one act play for the next edition of the festival.
