About

Moment Theatre Collective is a new one-act play festival in Montreal.

We’re building a welcoming, low-pressure space for creators to develop and stage short works for the community. We've planned the first festival for April 18 and 19, 2026, at Theatre VME.

What the festival is

A weekend of 10–25 minute plays with minimal technical requirements, presented by local artists. It’s a chance to try something new, meet collaborators, and share work with an audience.

What we provide

  • Venue and basic lights and sound
  • Festival marketing and front-of-house support
  • Help finding rehearsal space

Compensation

As a new, community-focused initiative, we can’t guarantee a stipend yet. We’re actively seeking funding and will be transparent about any artist fees if they become available.
